Six staff members with the Nebraska Humane Society are in Joplin, Missouri to help an emergency animal shelter that was set up after last month’s deadly tornado. Jordan Ellanich is one of the team members deployed and says they will be helping with Joplin‘s animal rescue effort.
Ellonich says 600 animals were taken to the emergency shelter this week alone and so far 150 have been reunited with owners. They hope they will be able to do more of the same.
Two animal control officers, two shelter staffers and two jack-of-all-trades volunteers will be in Joplin for seven days.
