Aurora quarterback Tyson Broekemeier found Elmwood-Murdock receiver Sam Burtch four times for 76 yards, including touchdown passes of 40 and 12 yards as the South beat the North 41-20 in Saturday’s Shrine Bowl at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln.
Broekemeier threw for 371 yards completing 30 of 37 passes, plus he rushed for 36 to finish with 407 yards of total offense, a Shrine Bowl record. His five TD passes were also a Shrine record. He was named offensive player of the game. Archbishop Bergan’s Christian Victor, the defensive player of the game who returned a fumble 49 yards for a touchdown.
