After Brandon Jones lifted a two-run home run to left in the top of the seventh inning, Lincoln extended its lead to 9-2. The Redhawks responded in a big way in the bottom of the frame, sending 15 men to the dish and scoring 10 runs on eight hits, capitalizing on two errors and three walks off starter John James and reliever Paul Koss.
The ‘Dogs closed the gap to within one in the top of the eigth on a Phil Hawke two-run homer to right center.
In the top of the ninth, after Fargo-Moorhead’s closer Alex Caldera retired the first two batters of the inning, Joe Ramos, Blake Gailen and Vance Albitz each drew walks to load the bases.
The Redhawks brought in left-handed specialist Adam Tollefson to face Hawke, and he induced a ground ball to the second baseman on his first pitch to end the game.
