Some Nebraska Army and Air National Guard members will be heading to farm fields when they arrive in Afghanistan. Agribusiness Development Team Number two Commander Lt. Col Lynn Heng tells us they’ll assist local Afghan farmers.
Lt. Col Heng says they have to turn back the clock 150 years from what we are doing here compared to what they are doing there. He says they have been very fortunate to have the University of Nebraska working with the team and get educated on how those practices were back then
Lt. Col Heng says there is very little mechanized equipment in Afghanistan. He says everything from planting to harvesting is done by hand there.
