A flood meeting today in Bridgeport will educate residents on preparing for potential flooding in the Nebraska Panhandle city.
Emergency management officials, the Morrill County Sheriff’s Office and Panhandle Public Health District will share instructions and preparedness measures for the potential of flooding along the North Platte River in Bridgeport.
City Administrator Bill Boyer says that the City wants residents to simply be ready in case evacuations are ordered.
Boyer says the City will likely be filling more sandbags this week as a precaution. Residents are being asked to review their personal flood evacuation plans.
Volunteers are being sought to help fill sandbags or pitch in with other flood preparations.
