Cleanup continues on 40,000 pounds of pesticide spilled from a semi that overturned early this morning near an Interstate 80 exit ramp near the airport.
Lincoln Lancaster County Health Department Environmental Health Manger Scott Holmes tells us there was not a vapor or airborne issue. He says with some of the rain in Lincoln this morning, the Health Department’s primary concern is the runoff.
Holmes says a contracted firm working for the owner of the truck is doing the actual cleanup. Holmes says they also have staff overseeing that the environment is adequately protected.
The westbound exit of the Interstate remains closed during clean-up.
