The anticipation of flooding is becoming quite stressful for a number of Nebraskans. Precautionary steps are crucial.
University of Nebraska Medical Center psychiatry department social worker Robin Zagurski tells us they encourage people to pause a bit when worries start to take over.
Zagursky says to stop and think if those worries are questions that can be answered. She says people often ask questions they cannot answer, like what is going to happen or how bat it will be.
Zagursky also says they encourage Nebraskans undergoing flooding to continue to take care of themselves as much as possible and get plenty of sleep and practice good nutrition.
