Good news for Nebraska’s economic outlook.
State Tax Commissioner Doug Ewald tells us the latest revenue numbers bode well for the state.
Ewald says with more Nebraskans back to work and putting in more hours a week, that has reflected in the individual income tax receipts he has seen there.
Overall May’s tax receipts were 9.5 percent above forecast. It’s the third straight month of positive gains over projection. For the year, Nebraska is 4.2 percent above forecast.
The latest state revenue figures exceeding projections could indicate a positive trend for the state. Ewald says he remains a little cautious.
