The Saltdogs split a double header with the St. Paul Saints Wednesday night, dropping the first game 4-0 but taking the nightcap 3-0 to earn a series win at Midway Stadium.
John James (5-1) had his most effective start of the season, throwing 6 2/3 shutout innings, allowing just four hits while striking out three and walking two to earn the win in the second game. PJ Zocchi recorded the final out to earn his ninth save of the year.
Brandon Jones delivered another clutch hit for the Saltdogs, delivering an RBI single with two outs and two strikes in the top of the sixth that essentially served as a game-winner, his third in the last five games.
In game one of the double header Wednesday, Alberto Rolon (4-0) shut down Lincoln, throwing a shutout while striking out six.
