Phil Hawke and Kevin Rios each launched two-run homers and Tim Brown spun seven strong innings to lead the Saltdogs to a 9-2 win over the St. Paul Saints at Haymarket Park Wednesday night.
Lincoln struck for four runs in the third inning, highlighted by Hawke’s seventh home run of the year, an impressive moon shot to center field. Rios added an opposite-field home run in the seventh to provide some insurance.
Hawke finished the night 2-for-5 with four RBI. Gavin Dickey went 2-for-5 with a double, three runs scored and a stolen base.
On my network reports, I told you yesterday about pitcher Tommy Palica who found out while on the mound that he was heading to the Phillies organization. He’ll join their advanced A club in Clearwater Florida.
