The Lincoln Saltdogs were swept by first place Gary SouthShore losing 11-4. The lost is the seventh in a row and Lincoln have given up at least nine runs for the sixth time in seven games. Since the slump began at Winnipeg over the weekend, Lincoln has been outscored 74-26.
Phil Hawke hit his eighth home run of the year in the first inning, but small by and timely hitting by the RailCats killed the Saltdogs.
Gary’s Cristian Guerrero had four home runs (he had three in the first 42 games this year), 16 RBIs and even a stolen base in the four game series in Lincoln. The combination of players who batted ninth for Gary were 9-for-14 with eight runs scored in the series.
