A Nebraska group is among those bashing a recent order under an Obama administration agency regarding illegal aliens. A memo penned last month by the director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement calls for “prosecutorial discretion” on behalf of federal agents.
“It’s almost better than amnesty for illegal aliens because this is a basic hands-off illegal aliens unless they have created a heinous crime,” says Nebraskans Advisory Group Founder Susan Smith.
Smith says the policy is considered a “priority” for ICE.
The memo allows for agents to account for the accused person’s family background, military background, education pursuits and ties to the community. The document lists “limited resources” as a reason behind the policy change.
