Two men are booked on suspicion of assault after a female victim reportedly asked them to stab her.
Beatrice Police Lieutenant Mike Oliver says the woman allegedly wanted to avoid a scheduled meeting on Tuesday with her probation officer.
Lieutenant Oliver says police were called to Beatrice Community Hospital where Jessalyn Stierwalt, of Beatrice, was being treated. It’s not believed Stierwalt’s injuries were life-threatening.
Police say alcohol use by the victim of the stabbing was a factor in the incident. The stabbing took place at a duplex.
Booked on suspicion of second-degree assault and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony were: 32-year-old Jerry Duke II and 20-year-old Scott Roberson-Turman, both of Beatrice.
Oliver said one of the men allegedly held the knife, while the other held his arm. It was not immediately known what Stierwalt was convicted of, that resulted in the probation sentence.
