Danielle Lemek of Doniphan put together pars on 12 of 14 holes to overtake Jackie O’Doherty and win the Girl’s Golf State Championship by five strokes. Danielle has now won three straight championships to go all with three high school titles and three state girls match play titles. This championship ties her with Leigh Sutton who won three straight from 01 to 03. Lemek will be eligible to try for a fourth straight title next summer.
In the Women’s State Amateur Match Play Championship in Omaha, Mary Narzisi of Omaha will face Nebraska senior Katelyn Wright in a 36 hole final. Narzisi beat two Huskers yesterday to make it to the finals, winning 1-up on Kayla Knopik in the semifinals. Wright beat McKayla Anderson from Fremont 2 and 1 to reach the finals.
