The Omaha Storm Chasers beat the Memphis Redbirds 4-0 as Storm Chasers pitcher Luis Mendoza threw the first Omaha no-hitter in 23 years and the second of his career. However the feat came with some drama. Moments after celebrating his performance, he was notified that a ninth inning error by leftfielder David Lough was ruled a hit. One hour later, it was changed back to error. So the official line on Mendoza, complete game no-hitter, four walks, seven strikeouts. He is just one of 10 pitchers in the Pacific Coast League’s 109 year history to throw a no-hitter and and just one of five pitchers to throw two nine-inning no-hitters.
