A jetliner made an emergency landing in Omaha this morning.
The Delta 737 was bound for New York’s Kennedy Airport from Salt Lake City, Utah, when the crew reported a smoky smell in the passenger cabin.
It’s unclear what caused the odor, but the crew decided not to take any risks and landed at Eppley Airfield to ensure there wasn’t a fire of some sort.
All went smoothly. No injuries were reported among the crew or the 159 passengers.
Delta says another plane was used to shuttle the passengers from Omaha the rest of the way to the East Coast.
