A law officer in southeast Nebraska faces a drunk driving charge.
The Beatrice Daily Sun says Gage County Sheriff’s Deputy John Patsch was pulled over early Saturday in Beatrice for doing 42 in a 35 mile an hour zone.
Deputy Patsch reportedly told the officer he’d had four or five beers in Pickrell and was heading home.
Reports say an initial blood-alcohol test put him just over the legal limit at .082.
A later test showed Patsch below the legal limit of .08, but, Sheriff Gus Gustafson says Patsch will not be getting any preferential treatment.
He faces departmental discipline, in addition to the DUI charge.
Patsch has 11 years in law enforcement, mostly with the Crete police. He was hired by Gage County in April.
