An employee of the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women has been suspended without pay after being arrested on suspicion of having an affair with a parolee.
The Nebraska State Patrol arrested Michael Huston, a corrections corporal in York, without incident this morning at the prison, according to the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services. The arrest followed an investigation into Huston’s relationship with a parolee released from the prison and placed on parole in March 2011. He has been jailed in York on charges of sexually abusing an inmate.
“The department has zero tolerance for unprofessional and sexual relationships with inmates,” said Director Bob Houston in a written statement. “NDCS retains both a highly talented and ethical workforce.”
Huston has been a corrections employee since 2006.
