The Saltdogs scored the game’s first four runs before Gary SouthShore took control for a 13-5 RailCats win Thursday night.Lincoln scored four unearned runs in the top of the third, highlighted by Curt Smith’s three-run homer to left.
The RailCats then tied it with four in the third, and built their lead to 11-4 by the end of six innings. Toddric Johnson hit a solo home run and Mike Massaro blasted a three-run shot.
Brandon Jones went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Phil Hawke, Jorge Cortes, and Rafael Alvarez had two hits apiece.The Saltdogs stranded 12 runners on base, and have left 37 men on over the first three games of the series.
Lincoln is now eliminated from wildcard contention but remains 2 1/2 games out of the Central division lead with five games to play.
