North Platte police are releasing more details about the weekend attack on two emergency medical technicians.
The ambulance was dispatched Sunday night to a home on what ended up being a false call.
The caller had said a woman had cut herself and needed medical care, but when EMTs arrived, there was no woman.
Once the EMTs were let inside the house, the man who let them in allegedly locked the door behind them and threatened them with a knife.
A third EMT was still outside and called police. The man, identified as 19-year-old Carlos Charging Elk, allegedly attacked the EMTs but dropped the knife.
They overpowered Charging Elk and were dragging him out the door when officers arrived. He’s facing a host of charges.
