A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow on a major new military installation in eastern Nebraska.
The Nebraska National Guard’s new readiness center will be built alongside its training camp near the Saunders County town of Mead, some 30 miles west of Omaha.
The $12-million facility will house the 402nd Military Police Battalion and will include what the Guard says is space for training, support and administration.
The groundbreaking is to be attended by a host of state, local and Guard officials.
Construction will begin right after the ceremony. The new center should open next summer.
