A Minnesota man who was shot when he lived in Nebraska nearly five decades ago has died in a highly unusual murder case.
Reports say 61-year-old Vance Skahen, of Eagen, Minnesota, was left paralyzed by the shooting in the early 1960s.
He was around 14-years-old at the time and lived in Grand Island.
The Hennepin County, Minnesota, medical examiner says Skahen died late last month at University of Minnesota hospitals.
The M-E says the death was from medical complications from the gunshot wound — and the death is now being ruled a homicide.
The death is under investigation and no arrests have been made, though the case may never be solved as officials say there are no police records remaining on the shooting.
