In conjunction with September’s National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month. Governor Dave Heineman and the Nebraska Dairy industry announced a student health initiative today.
The Governor says the program “Fuel up to Play 60” is important for students and dairy farmers in Nebraska.
Heineman says the goal of this program is to raise awareness of the importance of healthy choices. He adds the program empowers students to choose healthy foods and get out and play at least 60 minutes every day.
The program is promoted by the National Football League.
Heineman says programs like “Fuel Up to Play 60” helps student improve educational performance, which is an important focus to his administration.
