Each year, thousands of people from Nebraska, Iowa and other nearby states make the annual fall trip to Gretna. However, this year getting to Vala’s Pumpkin Patch may be a bit more difficult to get to. Southbound 180th Street from Highway N-370 leads to Vala’s Pumpkin Patch just outside Gretna. Owner Tim Vala says visitors will have to crossover at 174th Street to get to the attraction.
Access to Southbound 180th Street from N-370, motorists will need to use a temporary crossover at 174th Street. Detour signs will post the route change. This could slow down traffic in and out of Vala’s.
Vala doesn’t think this will impact business. He says this has become a destination place so visitors will still come. He is very optimistic about the construction saying when it is done, getting to the pumpkin patch will be much easier in the future.
The construction will be in effect until sometime in October.
Vala’s is much more than just a pumpkin patch. Along with the pumpkins to pick, Vala’s features 44 attractions including rides, live entertainment, specialty foods, contests and several haunted houses. Vala’s opens for the season on Saturday.
