The Nebraska soccer team notched a win in the first ever Big Ten Conference match with a 3-1 victory over Northwestern at the Nebraska Soccer Field on Sunday afternoon.
Junior Morgan Marlborough scored her second hat trick of the season and the fourth of her career. She also became just the fourth Husker in school history to score 50 or more goals in a career and now sits third on Nebraska’s career list with 51 goals, trailing Christine Latham (69) and Kim Engesser (53).
With the win, Nebraska improved to 4-3-1 on the season and 1-0-0 in the Big Ten. The Huskers are now 8-0-0 when opening conference play at home and are 16-1-0 in conference openers overall. John Walker’s squad also improved its all-time record against Big Ten teams to 17-5-2.
