Wahoo repeated as the Class C state champions in softball, beating unranked Ashland-Greenwood 10-3 in a rematch of last year’s state championship game. The Warriors scored seven runs in the sixth inning after the Bluejays grabbed a 3-1 lead through five innings.
Beatrice jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning on four hits, but Omaha Skutt rallied to take the lead in the bottom of the inning thanks to a one out barrage that included two singles and two doubles. Its the SkyHawks first state title in six appearances under coach Keith Englekamp.
Millard South picked up their second softball title in a 6-2 win over Lincoln Southwest as the Patriots went a perfect 4-0 at the tourney.
