An organization in eastern Nebraska has a new tool to help law enforcement when there is an emergency on the water. D.J. Ginsburg, Executive Director for A-T-V Search and Rescue in Omaha and says they now have a fully outfitted search and rescue boat.
Ginsburg says they had been trying to raise funds to purchase a much needed boat and they were very surprised and pleased when they received one through an anonymous donor. With this generous gift, Ginsburg says they will now be able to search area lakes and rivers when someone is reported in the water. The boat has all the emergency equipment needed, including sonar.
Ginsburg says while the boat is ready now for any operation they will unveil it to the public on Sunday, October 23rd at Lake Cunningham on the north edge of Omaha. Along with seeing the boat those attending can also meet and talk with members of the Yutan dive team. United States A-T-V will be at the lake from 3 until 5 pm.
