A western Nebraska woman was expecting to be sentenced to probation on a forgery charge in Omaha but wound up being ordered to jail.
Kristine Holly says she was completely clueless this was going to happen. She had brought her 7 and 12 year old daughters to the Sarpy County Courthouse with her. The children were waiting in Holly’s pickup while she appeared before the judge.
Holly was expecting probation but the judge ordered her to serve 30 days in jail.
Project Harmony made arrangements for the kids to be taken to a relative. Holly will likely be out on November 3rd due to time served. She was convicted of forging her mother’s signature to a 22-thousand dollar disability check.
