There is another sign that life is getting back to normal in Council Bluffs after the summer Missouri River flood. Ann Thelen is the spokesperson for MidAmerican Energy in Council Bluffs and says finally… they get to go home.
Five months ago the company relocated to a temporary location at the Mall of the Bluffs. MidAmerican Energy also went to great lengths to protect their permanent location at 3003 S. 11th Street in Council Bluffs by putting up sand filled barriers around the building. They moved equipment and materials to higher ground. While the river didn’t get too close to the building in June and July there was a bigger threat in August due to heavy rain. Thelen says the building held up well due to those precautions.
MidAmerican will close their temporary office at the Mall of the Bluffs at 5pm today (Friday). They will re-open Monday morning at 8 am at their permanent location.
