Nebraska volleyball player Lauren Cook’s arraignment in Lancaster County Court is today on charges of leaving the scene of an accident and driving with a suspended license, back from an incident on October 30. The 911 calls of the alleged hit and run accident are public. Here’s a portion of the call from the resident who witnessed the accident.
Cook apparently pulled over shortly after the accident to notify 911 that she was in her disabled SUV and told the dispatcher quote “I just want to make sure that they’re OK and I don’t want to be charged for a hit and run.” Lincoln police arrested Cook moments later. Cook has been ticketed for speeding six times, and her license had been suspended Oct. 3, after she failed to complete a required driver improvement course for drivers under the age of 21.
