Senior citizens confused about the Medicare process can get some answers during a Senior Seminar being held by Congressman Adrian Smith in North Platte Thursday.
The Congressman hosts the seminar at the North Platte Senior Center, 901 East 10th Street, from 1pm to 4pm. The seminar is being held during the open enrollment period for Medicare, which runs through the 7th of December.
Smith says the seminar will offer presentations from the Social Security Administration, the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services and the Nebraska Senior Health Insurance Information Program.
Smith says many of his older constituents have been confused, even worried, about Medicare. He says passage of the federal health care overhaul has added to the confusion. Smith says some senior citizens have told him they worry about the viability of the health care program as Washington continues to argue about how best to reduce the national debt.
