It appears that the Nebraska Furniture Mart is headed to the Lone Star State.
Omaha commercial real estate expert Trenton Magid says Mart officials plan to build a $1.5-billion complex between Dallas and Plano, Texas.
Magid says a 433-acre site has been selected for the development. The building itself would include over a half-million square foot showroom and more than a million square feet of warehouse space.
It is estimated the new store would open by the end of 2015. Administrative duties would remain at the Omaha headquarters. The Nebraska Furniture Mart also has locations in Des Moines and Kansas City.
