The U-S Supreme Court will decide if requiring people to buy health insurance is unconstitutional. This after Nebraska and 25 other states challenged President Obama’s health care law. Nebraska 2nd District Congressman Lee Terry says no one is arguing a review is needed.
Congressman Terry says while in Nebraska he spoke with many small business owners that would be impacted by changes in the health care law. If a business employs 50 or more people they would be required to provide health insurance to employees. Congressman Terry says this is one reason smaller businesses are not expanding or hiring more people. He says businesses are watching their pennies carefully right now and that is having an impact on the entire economy.
Congressman Terry says the mandate that would require all Americans to purchase health insurance is the stumbling block. He believes Congress will have to go back to the drawing board and come up with new options.
The U-S Supreme Court will hear the arguments in March and expect to have a decision by the end of June, 2012.
