The Elkhorn School District will soon have two new elementary schools and a new middle school. They will also renovate several existing schools as voters approve a $49-million bond issue. About 60% voters said yes.
Things went the other way for the Millard School District. Voters rejected a $140-million bond issue that would have covered renovations and upgrade technology and security. Last January a student walked in to Millard South High School and shot and killed Assistant Principal Vicki Kaspar and wounded the school’s principal.
About 57% of those voting said no to the funding. It was the first time Millard District voters rejected a bond issue in five decades.
