Carli Tritz scored a career-high 23 points, but the Creighton women’s basketball team could not overcome the hot-shooting of Kansas, falling to the Jayhawks 73-59 Wednesday night at Allen Fieldhouse. Kansas shot better than 50 percent from the field in the 14-point win.
Tritz made 9-of-18 shots from the field, including 2-of-4 three-pointers, and added 3-of-4 free throws to finish with her career-high and game-high 23 points. Her former mark of 21 points was set against Nebraska last year in Omaha.
After opening the season with three straight road games, the Bluejays will return to Omaha for their home-opener next Tuesday against South Dakota. Tipoff at D.J. Sokol Arena is set for 7:05 pm against the Coyotes.
