In blizzard conditions, the Wayne State University Warriors spotted St. Cloud State a 21-6 lead before storming back for a 48-38 win over the Huskies in an NCAA Division II first round playoff game Saturday in Minnesota. The Warriors (9-3), from Detroit, Mich., and the GLIAC (Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference), will play at Nebraska-Kearney in a second round game on Saturday, November 26th. Game time is 12:00 p.m.
Wayne is the sixth-seed in “Super Region 3” with the Lopers (10-1) the second-seed. On the other side of the bracket, defending national champion Minnesota-Duluth needed overtime to get past Saginaw Valley State (Mich..), 30-27, to reach the second round against Colorado State-Pueblo.
