Charges will not be filed against Regina Bush of Omaha in the shooting death of her husband, 26 year old Lorenzo Bush late Sunday night. Omaha police received a call from a woman stating she had shot her husband at a home near 44th and Pinkney Streets. Police found 26 year old Lorenzo Bush outside the home and rescue crews pronounced him dead at the scene.
Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine stated Lorenzo Bush had brought the gun into the house. Apparently an argument grew into a physical fight and Regina Bush shot her husband. Kleine says Bush had a history of protection orders filed against him by a former girlfriend and Regina Bush was apparently trying to protect herself. The two were in the process of getting a divorce.
There were two small children inside the home, a two and three year old. They are currently in state custody pending the outcome of the investigation.
