Troopers have confiscated nearly 80 pounds of marijuana in two traffic stops.
The Nebraska Highway Patrol reports a trooper stopped a minivan late Monday morning near the Paxton I-80 interchange for speeding. A drug dog led to the seizure of nearly 20 pounds of marijuana and a little more than an ounce of hashish. The driver, 30-year-old Chris Loeffler of Auburn, California and a passenger, 31-year-old Dean Meyer of Lake Tahoe, California have been jailed in Keith County for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
In a traffic stop early Monday evening, a trooper stopped an SUV on I-80 near the eastbound Waverly Scales. A drug dog led to the confiscation of nearly 60 pounds of marijuana. The driver, 32-year-old Quinton Barnes of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and a passenger, 32-year-old Harry Drummond of Fayetteville, North Carolina have been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. They both have been incarcerated in the Lancaster County jail.
