The Nebraska women’s basketball team earned its first top-25 ranking of the 2011-12 season when the Huskers entered the Associated Press Poll at No. 25 on Monday, Dec. 12. Nebraska improved to 9-1 on Saturday with a 97-88 double-overtime victory at Northern Arizona.
Sophomore Jordan Hooper led the Huskers with 32 points, eight rebounds and four steals, while junior point guard Lindsey Moore added 31 points, nine assists, six rebounds and three steals against the Lumberjacks. Earlier in the week, Hooper and Moore powered the Huskers past Creighton, 66-55, at the Devaney Center.
The Huskers earned their first AP national ranking since the Nov. 29, 2010 poll, when they were ranked No. 24 for one week. It is the third consecutive season Nebraska has been ranked in at least one weekly AP poll during the year. NU finished the 2009-10 season ranked No. 4 nationally by the Associated Press.
