Nebraska 2nd District Congressman Lee Terry says it appears an agreement is near on the one-trillion-dollar Spending Bill that will prevent several government agencies from shutting down on Friday.
Congressman Terry shows frustration that it seems like lawmakers always wait until the clock strikes before passing needed legislation.
There are reports out of Washington that partisan objections to portions of the spending bill is what stalled passage. Republicans hope to get the bill passed in the House with a party line vote. Reports show the Democrats are digging in their heels when it comes to extending unemployment and payroll tax cuts.
As it sits now there are several agencies that would see budget cuts including foreign assistance and at the Pentagon.
