Applications are being accepted for the 33rd District of the Unicameral, left vacant due to the death of State Sen. Dennis Utter of Hastings.
Gov. Dave Heineman’s office says the governor will accept applications through the close of business on Friday, January 13th. Applicants must have lived in the 33rd District for at least the past year. The district incorporates all of Adams County and party of Hall County. A map of the district is available here.
In addition to those who apply, the governor can choose his own candidates.
Whoever wins appointment will serve until January 8, 2013. The seat will be up for election in November 2012.
