The No. 19 Nebraska women’s basketball team makes its Big Ten Conference home debut tonight when the 12-1 Huskers host the 5-10 Indiana Hoosiers. NU is led by Jordan Hooper has averaged 21.2 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. She ranks second in the Big Ten in both scoring and rebounding and ranks 11th nationally in scoring.
The 2011-12 Hoosiers have just one senior (Alisha Goodwin) on the active roster and none in the starting five. The only other senior on Indiana’s roster – center Georgie Jones – was lost for the year with a torn ACL in her right knee in the first half at Virginia on Dec. 1. Jones was averaging 10.4 points and 9.6 rebounds through Indiana’s first four games as a starter.
IU is led by Jasmine McGhee, a 5-11 junior guard who has averaged 13.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Fellow junior Aulani Sinclair, Indiana’s top returning player, has averaged 11.3 points and 2.5 rebounds.
