A donation from the Omaha Fire Union will help those being treated at the Nebraska Medical Center’s Burn Unit. The Union presented a $10,000 check to representatives of the Med Center.
Firefighter Trevor Towey presented the check and stated “Ultimately as firefighters we would hope that everyone would get out of the fire safely and there would never be any need for a long recuperation of burn victims. Unfortunately, that is not the case”.
The Omaha Fire Union has donated more than $30,000 to several area burn centers since 2009. Part of the donation will be used to train nursing staff.
