Omaha police are busy investigating three shootings. On Thursday afternoon a man was shot near 35th and Dodge Streets. The victim, 42 year old George Combs was rushed to an Omaha hospital where he later died.
At 4:40, police were called to 16th and Emmet Streets for another shooting. 27 year old Robert McTizic was shot in front of a liquor store. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive. While police were responding to the shooting scene they witnessed a car matching the description of the suspect speeding southbound. The suspect’s vehicle then hit a fire truck that was on its way to help McTizic. The driver- suspect was injured and taken to a hospital. McTizic and the suspect are expected to recover.
Omaha police are investigating yet another shooting inside a home where four children were present. Two men got into an argument around 9 am Friday morning at 42nd and Ohio Streets and one man shot the other. The gunman then took off in a car with four elementary aged children. Police were able to stop the vehicle and the suspect was arrested. The four children are in police protection. The victim is suffering from life threatening injuries.
