Nebraska’s Emily Cady was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week, after the 6-2 forward from Seward, NE put together her best week of college basketball.
Cady averaged 18.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game against Ohio State and Minnesota. Cady set a career-high 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting at # 10 Ohio State last Thursday. Then Cady added 13 points, seven rebounds and a career-high three three-pointers in Nebraska’s win over Minnesota on Sunday.
Cady leads the 19th ranked Huskers in blocked shots (15), is tied for second on the team in steals (25) and ranks third on the team in assists (29). Cady has stepped up her play in Big Ten play where she is averaging 13.9 points and 6.1 rebounds in the first seven conference games.
