More than a foot of snow fell in the metro Denver area, according to the Denver Post, breaking records that stretched back more than a century. That system moved into southwest Nebraska Friday night and spread across the state for the next 24 hours. The Nebraska Department of Roads issued a “travel not advised” warning as the weekend began when the blizzard conditions that blanketed Colorado moved in.
Snowfall totals for Nebraska varied widely with 17-to-20 inches of snow reported in west-central Nebraska. The National Weather Service records 11 inches of snow in Lincoln. Eppley Airfield in Omaha reported 9 inches of snow.
Sunday brought dry, mostly sunny conditions to the state, returning travel close to normal.
