Gov. Dave Heineman is standing firm on his position of looking at tax relief before spending money on projects. He made it clear he does not support the University of Nebraska’s $91-million funding request for projects however he did say the projects have merit but it is bad timing.
Heineman says there could be a different approach regarding funding including extending it over several years. He stated before spending state money on big-ticket projects more money needs to be added to the cash reserve.
