The beautiful weather on tap for the weekend may encourage more people to dust off their bicycles and enjoy the great outdoors. However, heads up for those planning on hitting the trails along the Missouri River levee system.
Omaha city spokesperson Aida Amoura says construction crews are ready to start work to rehabilitate the levee system that was damaged during the summer flood. There is a lot of heavy equipment on site and due to safety concerns the city trail system is closing. It could be sometime this spring or even early summer before the paths reopen.
