Nebraska women’s basketball coach Connie Yori said a point of emphasis in Sunday’s win over Wisconsin was to get the ball inside and finish. Sophomore Jordan Hooper helped with 19 points and a career high 18 rebounds as the 16th ranked Huskers beat the Badgers 68-59.
While Yori says most fans may be concerned with the struggles from behind the three point arc during the team’s three game losing streak (and 5 of 17 performance on Sunday), Yori said she was concerned about inside shooting. She pointed to the Northwestern loss, when NU missed 12 of 17 shots from feet or closer. It was a different story Sunday. The Huskers outscored Wisconsin 36-20 on points in the paint, including 16-6 on second-chance points.
