Larry the Cable Guy returns to his roots tonight on his reality television show “Only in America” on the History Channel.
Larry, whose real names is Daniel Whitney, returns to Nebraska after taking a tour of Washington, D.C. with former Georgia Congressman Ben Jones, who played Cooter on the hit TV show “The Dukes of Hazzard.”
Larry the Cable Guy decided to wrap up the show in Congressman Jeff Fortenberry’s Lincoln office. Fortenberry was in Washington at the time of the taping, but joined Larry via Skype.
“But he decided to end the show in my office back in Lincoln and, so, I was actually in Washington. So, I Skyped in there and we had a conversation,” Fortenberry says. “I tried to be funny. I have confirmed that I did not hit the editing room floor. I am actually in the program.”
Fortenberry says he doesn’t know how much he has in common with Larry the Cable Guy, but that he enjoyed the conversation.
